Walt Disney s Accomplishments And Accomplishments

Walt Disney was a pioneer of cartoon films based off of his creative animation and imaginative characters. He is well-known for producing Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, the Seven Dwarfs, and many other famous Disney characters. Walt Disney’s childhood prepared him for the career he never dreamed of having, which was a cartoonist. His greatest achievements lead to huge investments such as Disneyland, Disneyworld, and other companies which hold his name to their title. His legacy lives on today in America and throughout the world. This paper details Walt Disney’s childhood, his amazing achievements, and his legacy on animation and entertainment today. On December 5, 1901, Walter Elias Disney was born in Chicago, Illinois. However, he lived most of his childhood in Marceline, Missouri, where he began drawing, painting, and selling pictures of his work to his family and friends. When Disney was a teenager, he attended McKinley High School in Chicago where he took drawing and ph otography classes and was a cartoonist for his school newspaper. In 1919, Disney tried to start a career as a newspaper artist in Kansas City (Walt Disney Biography). When he was in Kansas City, he met a cartoonist named Ub Iwerks. He began doing experiments with a camera by doing hand-drawn cel animations, and then he ended up opening his own animation business. Disney and his first employee Fred Harmen shot a series of cartoons called Laugh-O-Grams.
